From Mrs Darby
Dear Families,
The last week of term is here! This week is a short week – please remember that Friday is a student free day and Thursday is the last day of term. We finish at normal time – 3pm.
Next Term, summer uniforms are back. This means for those students who wish to wear the summer dress or the green skort, we can wear these again. We do not sell the green skort in the uniform shop, so please keep an eye out in places like Big W, Best and Less and K-Mart for these. They don’t tend to sell them all year round, so if you would like to wear one of these, you need to purchase one when they are available in the shops.
Please remember that PE shorts and skorts are to be mid-thigh or longer in length. Black shoes or runners need to be worn on non-PE days and HATS need to be worn in Term 4. These are available in our school uniform shop for $18. Ripped hats and hats with graffiti on them are not acceptable at school, so please remind children about having respect for our school uniform and presenting well for school. Students who continually come to school in the incorrect uniform will be given an opportunity to correct this and then the teacher or myself will contact home. I believe that I have provided options for everyone and have been very accommodating, my expectation is that families ensure children come to school in the right clothes every day. If for any reason the correct uniform can’t be worn, a note is appreciated. On that note, in Term 4, if your child has grown out of their shoes, please don’t purchase a new pair. Please send a note to let us know and purchase a new pair in January.
Footy Day this week – we will have a parade on the top basketball court at 8:45am, our end of term mass on Thursday is at 9:30am in the church and then the children will participate in some fun activities for the day.
Our wonderful P&F will also be making fun lunches on this day – please remember to order your child’s lunch so that they don’t miss out. Dietary Requirements are catered for. Thank you to our P&F team who have done such a great job with this!
Finally, as we head into the holidays and the AFL finals season, I will leave us with this prayer for the players, coaches and supporters.
Prayer for AFL Finals
Loving God,
We thank You for the fun and excitement of the AFL finals.
Bless all the teams who have played this season,
and especially those still chasing the big win!
Help the players to show teamwork, fairness, and courage.
Keep them safe from injury and help them to play with joy.
Bless the coaches, the umpires, and the fans who cheer so loudly.
Whether our team wins or loses,
teach us to celebrate with happiness,
support each other kindly,
and remember that friendship is more important than the score.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord.
Amen
Have a wonderful week ahead, we hope all of our children and staff enjoy the break.
School starts back for Term 4 on Monday 6th October. See you then.
