MISSION MORNING
MISSION MORNING - THURSDAY 16th OCTOBER
October in the Catholic Church is Mission Month and as a way to celebrate this and learn more about Catholic Missions we are having a mission morning at Lumen Christi. On Thursday students are encouraged to wear a "SPLASH" of RED (e.g a hat/socks/t-shirt/hair ribbon/shorts) - just ONE red item (this is not a casual clothes day).
Catholic Mission's chosen logo colour has always been red and this is a colour of courage, the courage to be missionary and to make a difference in our world - just like Jesus did!
On this day, as well as wearing a splash of red, students are asked to donate $2 to Catholic Missions who play a vital role in supporting communities and children in need, particularly in the areas of healthcare, education and spiritual development.
Students will begin the day together as a school with a short prayer and then complete some classroom activities related to Catholic Missions, concluding the morning with a special treat to recognise the day.
So don't forget - a splash of RED and a $2 coin on Thursday 16th October!
