Dear Families,
A huge thank you to all of our mums, grandmas, aunties and special people who came along to celebrate our Mother’s Day breakfast and Liturgy last Thursday. We had such a successful turn out and it was just lovely to see everyone celebrating as a community in a way in which we haven’t been able to for so long. Also, a huge thank you to Mrs Campbell and Brenda Leary for putting on the breakfast and to our wonderful staff for helping to make it a wonderful morning for our families and children.
This week, we have NAPLAN for our Grade 3 and 5 children. They have already completed their writing assessments this morning and they all did a wonderful job. It can be a stressful situation for some children, the important thing is for everyone to do their best. The data from these assessments really are used to look at how our school is performing over time.
We will be celebrating Mass on Thursday morning this week. This is our official start of term Mass and we are very excited that Father James will be with us. It is especially important as it will be our final mass with Mrs Colaciello who has been our Religious Education Leader at Lumen Christi for the last three years. So, it will be a very sad, but very special mass for us to celebrate as a school community and everyone is welcome.
On that note, I’d like to offer a prayer for Mrs Colaciello as she starts a new chapter of her life:
We wish you congratulations for this new chapter of your life. May God keep you in His blessings and give you courage as you start at your new school. We pray that you experience many successes and much joy in your new role and that God will always be with you on your journey. Amen
Have a wonderful week ahead everyone,
Sally
